Moving, remodeling, and adjusting

So, we finally closed on our house, and moved in! It was our first big move since we have been married. I can say the process took longer then we hoped. Being in a small one bedroom apartment, you would think it would be easy to pack up and move all in one day. However that was not the case, despite all my attempts to stay organized, and neat, it took us 3 days to move out and clean up.

We are so thankful for all those who came and helped us move and haul all our crap on such a cold night! I can't even imagine how long it would have taken us if we didn't have all those hands to help.

Zoe has finally adjusted to our new house, it took her a little over a week to be OK with it. I think it didn't help either that I started a new job the same week so she had to adjust to me being gone in the afternoons. But now she loves it. Especially our 8 ft picture window. She sits in front of it all day and basks in the sun light (she has such a hard life!) Kory and I swear she is more cat then dog! Except she is only the good parts of a cat and good parts of a dog. She also loves our kitchen vent. That is her new place to sleep. As much as I hate having a dog bed right by my sink, I am glad she is finding her place in our new home.

Besides our ceilings, we haven't started any big remodeling projects just yet. We have been busy doing the things we didn't think of, like replacing door knobs, kitchen cabinet knobs, deep cleaning everything, putting up coat hangers and getting a garbage disposal (We didn't plan on putting one in until we remodeled the kitchen, but I was done with that after a day).

Hopefully today we will begin working on our bedroom closet and then next week the Bathroom!

Merry Christmas

Kory and I had a great Christmas! We spent half the day at our apartment and the other half with family. It was a little hectic but still fun. Kory did an excellent job on my gifts this year, my favorite one was the Dance Dance Revolution with TWO mats.

Some more exciting news is that we closed on our house this week as well. I picked up our keys yesterday and we are going to begin working on it today! It doesn't feel like we own it yet, and maybe because we haven't moved in yet. I am excited, I will post pictures soon.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Polar Express

Last night we went on a "Polar Express" train ride with Kory's family. Each year, Kory's oldest brother Mike and all of his kids put on this event. We had such a fun time, but it was freezing outside.

The Train took us around the property, and up to the North Pole, where we got a message from Santa Clause about the true meaning of Christmas.

Happy Holidays

I finally finished up all my Christmas shopping this week. It was really hard to find time in the middle of this closing mess. We are getting closer to wrapping it all up and are really excited to finally move in. There is light at the end of the tunnel. I love the holidays and all, but this Christmas has been hard for me to get into the Christmas spirit.

This weekend Kory and I attended a couple Christmas Parties. I was hypnotized at the Andeson Family Christmas party by the "Hypno Hick". It was sooo weird. I ended up snapping out of it part way, but only after I drove a super hot black sports car, and danced around the stage as a "prima ballerina" and "Hula dancer". I was bumbed that it didn't work completely, I attribute that to my A.D.D. However I was able to watch the rest of the show, and it was soo funny. It was a blast. I have not laughed, or seen Kory laugh that hard in a long, long time.

I'll post the video when we get at copy of it.

Getting Antsy

We just found out that it will take another 3 weeks before we close on our house.. :( We were really hoping that this week would be closing, but alas it is not. We probably won't even be in by Christmas because we have to do some minor renovations to the ceilings before we move in. But it is looking like we will be staying in our little apartment for one more Christmas.
Its really hard because we are really excited, and we want to start on the painting it the way we want, or picking out furniture for the rooms, but we cant.

Today we went and looked at some furniture from Kory's late Grandmothers house to sort of help fill up all the new space. With all the furniture we have right now we will have about one piece for each room in our house. :). Some of her stuff was really cool, we found this really antique rotary telephone and took it home. We assume it still works, but we don't know because we don't have a land line in our apartment. Either way it makes a great conversation piece.
We also found a dinning room table, that Kory really likes, the sides fold down like the one we have now.

Birthday!

Today I turned 25! I usually hate birthdays, especially my own birthday. Its either overshadowed by the craze of Christmas, or I have all these expectations and get disappointed. But this year is different. I have enjoyed my day relaxing and shopping. It was a great break from my busy everyday life! I think 25 is a good birthday number for me.
